What are some signs that your boss may be looking for a new job?

I work at a software company in the finance department, and my office mate told me he thinks our boss is looking for a new job. He said there are "signs" but wouldn't elaborate. What could these signs be? Weird looks?? What would make you think your boss is leaving?

I really appreciate your answers.

Going off on job interviews.
Reply:If your boss ask you to type or proof read his resume, that's a pretty good sign.

If they are coming in late, taking long lunch hours, or leaving early and seem to be much better dressed than normal, that's a sign they are interviewing.

If they start slowing removing personal items from their office.

If they are receiving phone calls that they are being secretive about.

Changes in their work ethic -- no more taking work home or working extra hours. Unconcerned about deadlines and work backlogs.
Reply:If they're taking long lunches and getting dressed up (or more dressed up than they usually are). Meaning: lunch time job interviews.

If they're getting more personal calls than usual (or using their cellphones more than normal at work). Meaning: fielding calls from prospective employers.

They've removed personal effects from their office/cubicle in anticipation of walking out soon (I've done this).

Of course, some of these signs could also mean they're fooling around on the side, too.
Reply:signs would be showing up late for work, leaving work early, and taking longer lunch hours, and generally just slacking off....if he has always done those things then noticing the signs is a little harder.
Reply:many long phone calls.
