How can I be successful in looking for a new job?
First, it depends on your skills. Don't isolate yourself to the banking field if your strong points are in finance. Every company I know has financials, marketing, product management, etc. - so apply with companies you like.





Second, make sure your resume is up-to-snuff. Have it proof-read... multiple times. When you apply, make sure your cover letter addresses concerns/ideas/thoughts about the company you are applying with.





Third - the market is tough right now. People are trying to find better jobs because the economy is down. Make sure you do everything you can to do the best interview possible.





There are a lot more sources out there, but... the main thing is be honest, do your work, and smile when you meet your new (potential) employer.

In this gloomy economy I think you really have to network. Try to go face to face with employers. First off though, contact people you know that can help you.

Reply:apply to anyone and everyone who is looking for help, try to aim for about 4 or 5 a day. and ALWAYS call and ask, i mean BUG THE CRAP OUT OF THEM. if nothing else someone will hire you just to get you to leave them alone.
