I went looking for a job this week and my mom made a point of telling me that I shouldn't wear casual clothes as they wont even give my CV a thought.
What would you wear to go looking for a job?
it does matter where your trying to look for a job!
Most professionals will not even bat an eye if you don't look well!
someone said to me if you look like you take care of your self then you can take care of a client! or your job...
it sucks the worlds is stuck on appearances and all that lame stuff! but it's fact that if someone with your same resume goes to a place dress to the T they will get the job over someone who just looks nice!
another tip! if your going door to door looking for a job! STOP it looks bad and that means you will accept anything that comes along!
make it more personal and talk about the company write them call to see if they are hiring get names and make a big impression!
it should help your odds on getting a GREAT job!
Reply:I'd make an effort to look smart - or look the part. It's good to look like you're someone they'd want to employ as they'll easily be able to imagine you in the role you want. I'd always wear a suit to an interview, but just smart clothes would be okay - depends what the job is really. If you look good it raises your self esteem too and may make you feel more positive about it.
Good Luck!
Reply:Wear something smart but not over the top like a suit. I'd choose a pair of trousers, black or grey - you can get nice ones from Next or even cheap like ASDA - thats where i've got all my previous job stuff from because I know i'll not wear it again unless i go for another interview, and either a blouse or a plain top with some shoes.
Good luck.
Reply:It really doesn't matter what kind of job you are looking for. You need to look professional. While job itself may be done in rather casual environment, job seeking process is a professional task. You could never go wrong with business suits. If you don't have one, use clean, simple, and conservative clothing.
Also, you need to speak professionally. No ...like...stuff...yeah... in your conversations, please. When speaking with managers or supervisors, use at most courteous tone and vocabulary.
Good luck.
Reply:Dress like you would for the job if they told you to start immediately. So, if you want to be a server, black bottoms and white blouse. Clothing store, smart pants and top that compliment that store. Fast food, khakis and white/blue/pink blouse. Most tops need to at least be collared. No jeans. Closed toe shoes. Go easy on makeup, and keep hair up out of face. No gum chewing, but have good breath. And that Lucy person needs to get a life.
Reply:Depends what job you're looking for. If you're applying at McDs, casual would be fine. If you're going to offices or retail stores, jeans are not acceptable. It really depends on where you're looking.
Reply:I would go just looking like myself.
Also for the interview I would go looking like myself as well, because that's what I want them to see. And it also depends on what type of job you're going for.
Reply:I would suggest business casual clothing you never know if they do inteviews on the spot. Nice shirt and a pair of dress pants and nice pair of shoes.
Reply:It depends on what type of job you are looking for and what you feel comfortable in.
Preppy would probably be the best look.
Reply:smart is best but you can wear smart casual
Reply:you have a dull life as a goth blah de blah good luck for the job in macdonalds
