If I get hired were I have an interview at how long should I wait to tell them I'm pregnant it takes a while for me to show but I will show soon based on my other pregnancy. So what can I do or say to the job.
I am about 12 weeks pregnant and looking for a job?
i would go for a temp job and be honest with them from the start
Reply:You will more than likely be passed up for many jobs since you are pregnant. I had a job when I found out I was pregnant, but I was on temporary status. I almost didn't get hired on through the company because of it. (I had a miscarriage in April and got pregnant again in May) The second pregnancy, I kept from my coworkers until I was further than 12 weeks (history of miscarriages at 12 weeks). When you go for an interview, make sure you let them know you are pregnant. If you get passed up for one, then so be it. It's not right, but no one wants to hire someone who will be going on maternity leave shortly after being hired. The best thing might for you might be going to a temporary job service. They have jobs that are only for a short period of time ( which to most employers will be what you will be working anyway).
Good Luck with your job hunt and pregnancy.
Reply:It's best to wait until they make an offer. I wouldn't say anything about it sooner because although its illegal for them to pass on you because you are pregnant - it would be impossible to prove that was the reason (unless they stupidly say exactly that). However, if they make you an offer, that tells you that you were the best candidate for the job and they want you as an employee. At that point, you have the obligation to let them know at the earliest convenience.
Good luck!
Reply:Actually, You do not have any legal reason to tell them. I would definitely not tell them before being hired, and it is illegal for them to even ask you. Once hired, though, I would tell them because you will need to go on maternity leave at some point. Remember* it is illegal for them to not hire you or fire you based on the fact that you are pregnant and you have absolutely no responsibility to tell them until you are hired for good!*
Reply:Most companies ask during an interview if you'll need any time off in the next year and at that point you need to say, I'll need maternity leave from from this date___ to this date___, if you say no then that would be deceitful on your part and they would be unhappy with you. If they don't ask during the interview then it's their own fault and you should be fine waiting until you start showing to say anything.
Reply:I am pregnant and jobless.
I got out of college with a degree in May and got pregnant in August. The last thing I want to do right now is start a career and take on responsibilities when I know I have a bundle of them on their way.
Do you not have a supportive father to be?
It is relatively cheap for me to lay around all day. You just need to make it cost effective and do free things like go to the library.
And I would also ask.. do you plan to keep the job after the baby? Is this a part time job you see yourself doing after your child comes or are you going to leave them high and dry?
Reply:you do not have to tell them anything at the interview, and you can tell them your pregnant after you are hired anytime you want.. even if you want to wait until you are showing lol you could make them guess... once you are hired they cannot fire you for being pregnant. but they can fire you for lots of other reasons, and some company's will find them... i got fired a week after i told my company i was pregnant. they found a stupid reason and went with it. they even tried to deny me unemployment but i got a lawyer and they dropped their case against me. unfortunately, the lawyer cannot prove that they fired me b/c i was pregnant. so good luck and i hope you have a good company to work for... i have a good one now that can't wait for me to come back to work and show off the baby to everyone :)
Reply:Not many jobs will hire you when you are pregnant, and the insurance won't cover the pregnancy and delivery because you didn't have it before you got pregnant. You would be better off filing for Medicaid.
Reply:Sorry, bad idea. Even if they do hire you out of ignorance of your pregnancy or out of fear of a lawsuit, they will most likely drop you like a bad habit the minute they can do so without being vulnerable to a lawsuit.
Reply:You don't have to tell them unless you are comfortable telling them. It is against the law for them to fire you or not hire you because you are pregnant.
Reply:that all depends on what kind of job you get hired to do. If it is a lot of lifting and things you would need to tell them soon.
Reply:As long as you were not showing and it does not affect your job don't tell. they probably will not hire you even though they are not supposed to discriminate, yeah right!
Reply:You should be upfront or it is the same as lying if you don't tell them.
Reply:Would you hire someone that is going to need 6 weeks medical leave in less than 6 months?
Reply:I would be straight forward with them...they can't discriminate against you for it.
Reply:be honest
Reply:go to target
Reply:i would wait until after you deliver your baby.
good luck (:
