basic jobs to look for youth of 19
Where to look for jobs for an adhd who is 19 or any vocational skills and where?
The best thing to do is try to determine what your son or daughter is truly interested in. This will help keep the interest and help the person to feel good about what they are doing. People with adhd typically find things that they are not interested in very boring. If this person is interested in cars, for example, they might go to a college with courses in mechanics. Or they might be able to help someone in a garage. Find a way to help this person to determine their own interests and then to find ways to use them constructively. Then, eventually they can find more and more ways to use their skills for money.

If you were looking for a job enough money to raise your family would you go to tafe or university?
University definitely. Short term TAFE can give you faster qualifications and can assist to get accepted at a University. There is also less cost but if you are looking long term career you definitely need to look at a university qualification.
If you were looking for a job enough money to raise your family would you go to tafe or university?
Depends on you. But an immediate solution out of the crisis will be tafe. Study as u earn and then when u are out of bad times.. Go for a uni course after that.

What is truly the best way to "get your foot in the door" when looking for a new job?
Here is how a friend did it. When he was close to graduating from college he asked someone who worked for a major company if he could buy him lunch and get some job interview tips from him. It was a guy who was a rep for a drug company.
The guy said ok tell you what, I need something to go on so learn all you can about this drug {he gave him the fact sheet} and I will ask you some questions. My friend basically memorized the info including interactions, the chemical make up the market share. When he had lunch the guy asked him questions for over an hour, and gave him pointers about interview expectations and other things. Three months later the same guy called my friend and said there is a rep opening in San Antonio Texas are you interested? What me a drug rep? Yes you knew more about drug X than I did! I told my boss about you and we have been looking for a place to get you an interview. Now my friend in a District manager over 3 states and 30 other reps, not bad for a guy with a Business degree!
What is truly the best way to "get your foot in the door" when looking for a new job?
One word...networking.
The vast majority of jobs are already filled before they are posted. Posting the position usually just fulfills some internal requirement for due diligence in the recruiting process.
Go to professional networking events...be bold, but professional, and just find a REAL LIVE person within the company that you can use as an inside source.
Cattle calls and mass resume mailings are a waste of time and paper.
Reply:Contact the company you are interested in. Make an appt. to 'interview them'! The purpose of the appt. is for you to find out about the company - its products and services, its 'work environment', the business's long-term growth potential, and so forth.
Companies are much more likely to hire people that really want to work there, than to hire people 'just looking for a job'. Show them you really want to work there by taking the time to find out as much as you can about them!
Best wishes and good luck.
Reply:What worked for me (BIG time) was going to a temp agency and telling them that I was only interested in temp-to-perm positions.
Reply:Simple things like having an awesome CV, impeccable appearance and manners, and knowing about the company and the job will go a long way towards putting you above the competition...so, have somebody help you by critiquing your resume, dress sharp and as professional as possible, and if you have to physically practice and interview then do it. Investing the time in preparation could be what lands you that job!
Reply:Dress the part. Be confident and not cocky. Assume you are the best candidate for the job.

What happens if the employer finds out that you are looking for a new job?
If you are looking for a new job and the boss finds out about this what kinds of things could you expect positive and negative?
What happens if the employer finds out that you are looking for a new job?
Every company has a different policy on how they would handle the situation.
If you are top-notch employee, they will probe to see why you want to leave and will try to retain you.
Some companies will just let you be.
Some companies will use it against you for grounds of termination. Depending on where you live, they can use it to terminate your employment.
Hope it helps
Reply:I TOLD one of my former employers I was looking for another job when I was confident I had another lined up. They offered me a raise, but it wasn't enough so I left anyway.

I m looking for genuine company for online job work of data entery or administration work want to start now?
Hey simran,
When you say genuine what exactly is your idea of genuine? There are company's and independent business owners who are always looking to out source data entry and writing jobs.
If you are willing to learn some basic marketing skills affiliate programs through companies like amazon.com and even google adsense can be great income streams attached to a great blog (or you can build a website).
You can become a product or service reviewer. where you post your unbiased opinion on this you are interested or experienced in.
It's usually free to sign up as an affiliate for different companies in all different industries and niches. Some want you to purchase the product before you can become an affiliate.

Hi. If you are intrested in being an independent business owner please check out my website and you can request an interview there. www.myhomebusinesspays/VDudko. We are a Nationwide Deantal and Medical Benefits company.
Reply:1. WelI I actually take surveys for cash. And yes they do pay as long as you know the good ones. I have some free survey sites that are very reliable just check out my profile by clicking my name or email me for them. I only give sites that I've been paid by so you won't get scammed. They're all reliable and I've never had a problem with them. (I've been doing them for a year now) The best part is that anyone can do them and they're easy. You won't get rich but they definitely help with bills :)
2. Btw a lot of the ones above are spammers and I wouldn't trust them
Reply:If you find one let me know. I did data entry and medical billing for over 5 years.
If that doesn't work you can work for me. I'm a drop shipper for custom made photo items ( T-Shirts, Mouse pads, Caps, Mugs, and etc...) A lot of my customers sell on eBay and are also eBay power sellers. Their is no upfront money required. I offer a free 30 day trial and ship worldwide. All you need to do is post your item for sale, when the item sales and the buyer makes payment you purchase the item from me with the buyers money and pocket the rest as profit. I ship the item out to your buyer as if it came from you. Check out the website its self explanatory.
Good Luck

I am looking for a job Right now I live in Burbank Ca and i live around the mall.?
I have fast food experiance, receptionist experiance, i have worked at a michaels arts and crafts, and a bakers square resturant as a hostess so if anyone can help me find a job that would be great thanks
I am looking for a job Right now I live in Burbank Ca and i live around the mall.?
You live near the mall - go make a visit, and stop in the stores you would be most interested in working for, and fill out the applications. You can also go to any job search web page, like hot jobs or monster, include your specifics in the keywords search box, and see what turns up that interests you.
Reply:You need to make a short resume and visit all the businesses in your area.

When you have a job, and looking for another, are you entitled time off to go to job interviews?
I am not sure the rules on time off for interviews???!
When you have a job, and looking for another, are you entitled time off to go to job interviews?
No, not unless there is a layoff and you are being separated from employment through no fault of your own(either termination for misconduct, or you resign). Additionally, if your position is being eliminated, you may possibly be allowed time to search for another position.
Reply:No you are not entitled to time off, why would your current employers give you time off to find a job with someone else? Think about it.
The only way an employer is ok with that is if they are relocating and you aren't going with them, then they would understand and allow you to have time off, like one of my employers did. chances are you'll either need to schedule the interview after work or before work and tell your employer you have a doctors appointment.
There are no rules on time off for interviews, bottom line is employer's don't like it.
Reply:That's like asking your spouse to give you "time off" to cheat, in order to find another partner before filing for divorce. Are you entitled? No. Can you do it anyway? Yes.
Reply:Not at all. Why would your current company give you time off to hook up with another company? Its like asking your girlfriend to give you a free pass with another girl. People don't like to share. Companies are the same.
Reply:No, you aren't entitled to time off for any reason actually, let alone for interviews. Try to schedule interviews outside of your normal work hours.
Reply:You need to schedule the interviews around your work schedule if at all possible. If your company finds out you are looking , depending on the size they may not think to kindly of it :))
Reply:No. You have to apply for annual leave for job interviews.
Reply:not always. that all depends on your supervisors.
Reply:No, unless you count being fired.
Reply:no
you need to call in sick or take a vacation day
Reply:Get real !!!
I bet you are in America

Should I ask for a raise prior to looking for a new job?
I recently graduated and have a decent job but am interested in looking at my options. I am supposed to be reviwed this month and likely recieve a raise, however this is yet to be mentioned much less happen. I feel confident that my employer would not like to lose me; so should I approach them and tell them I am looking somewhere else or should I just look and leave if I find something.
Should I ask for a raise prior to looking for a new job?
Don't tell them your plans ... look around for a job ,without mentioning it at your present job ... if they know you are looking they probably won't bother giving you a raise or promotions or help you in any way ... Why should they waste their time making you happy ifyou aren't going to stay there?
Reply:I think you should create a list or chart of things you do or have done that surpasses what the company originally expected of you. Use this list/chart to give your employer a visual of your contribution to the company and to back up your reason for deserving a raise, your answer cant just be "because I want one" you have to have supporting evidence of EARNING it. Good luck.
Reply:If you tell them you are looking elsewhere for employment it is very likely you will have plenty of time on your hands to pursue your search.

Best place to look online for jobs in Singapore for a USA citizen?
I've tried lots of different things to earn money from home. None of them were scams, but the majority of them didn't earn the kind of money I would have liked to be earning. Eventually, I found a home based business that didn't cost money to get started with. It's been the best thing for my family and I love what I'm doing now.

Also, Send your resume to a temporary staffing outfit (be honest with them). Temp outfits are a great way to show people what you're capable of without their fear commiting themselves to you. Once they like you, they'll hire you. The temp agencies also have employee benefits if you've been active there awhile.

I'm a visitor to the US and I am looking for a job to support myself during my stay? I live in Pittsburgh. ?
is it possible or totally impossible?
I'm a visitor to the US and I am looking for a job to support myself during my stay? I live in Pittsburgh. ?
If you are a visitor on a tourist visa or the Visa Waiver program it is a violation of the terms of your visa (or VWP) to work. If caught in violation you can be rapidly deported with very limited chance of coming back. If you are here on a student visa, check with the school about employment opportunities and limits.
Reply:You need a work visa. Otherwise if you can find work wages will be low and you have the serious risk of deportation.

I am looking for a position that allows me to learn and grow with a good firm. Eventually, I would like to be a portfolio manager.
I do not want to go the sales route, as many places require that you give up your integrity to do so.
Anyone that would be able to help me I would greatly appreciate it. I am 20 minutes from NYC, and are in easy commuting distance to NYC, Greenwich/Stamford CT, and NJ.
You can respond on here or email me direct at DavidZiegelstein@yahoo.com

Would making people work for benifits help make the lazy ones look for better jobs ?
good idea
Would making people work for benifits help make the lazy ones look for better jobs ?
What better jobs? A person is lucky to have ANY job in this economy. And if you won't demand that people be paid enough for minimal food, clothing and shelter (also utilities and basic medical care) then you shouldn't complain when they ask for and receive help. You take advantage of these people every time you eat out, shop, go to motels, etc. And you want the most courteous and professional service possible. You wouldn't be very comfortable if they all got better jobs, would you?
Reply:Let's get the entitlement mentality working, first. Yes, benefits may encourage them to do so. They can shop for better jobs later on.
Reply:I see you still haven't learnt to spell

How can I be successful in looking for a new job?
I am desperately looking for a new job. I need advice on how to land a new job. Thanks a lot. 10 pts for the best answer.
How can I be successful in looking for a new job?
First, it depends on your skills. Don't isolate yourself to the banking field if your strong points are in finance. Every company I know has financials, marketing, product management, etc. - so apply with companies you like.
Second, make sure your resume is up-to-snuff. Have it proof-read... multiple times. When you apply, make sure your cover letter addresses concerns/ideas/thoughts about the company you are applying with.
Third - the market is tough right now. People are trying to find better jobs because the economy is down. Make sure you do everything you can to do the best interview possible.
There are a lot more sources out there, but... the main thing is be honest, do your work, and smile when you meet your new (potential) employer.
Good luck!
Reply:Do you have a field of interest or are in a certain field?
In this gloomy economy I think you really have to network. Try to go face to face with employers. First off though, contact people you know that can help you.
This is just a suggestion, I am sure someone here will give you a more thorough answer.
Good Luck
Reply:apply to anyone and everyone who is looking for help, try to aim for about 4 or 5 a day. and ALWAYS call and ask, i mean BUG THE CRAP OUT OF THEM. if nothing else someone will hire you just to get you to leave them alone.

I'm 17 years old and looking for a job that I can start in May and hopefully continue through the year...?
I'm thinking of applying at places at my outlet mall such as Aeropostale and Gap, but I guess I'm a bit nervous about it all. What are the odds of them accepting a 17 year old with no experience? Will I have to do a fancy interview to get the job? What kind of pay can I be expecting to get? I know the answers to these questions probably depend a lot on the manager/supervisor themself, and can't really be answered here, but any input as to what to expect would be greatly appreciated! :)
I'm 17 years old and looking for a job that I can start in May and hopefully continue through the year...?
If you present yourself reasonably well (dress neatly, speak clearly and intelligently, and sound interested in working) you have a real good change to get hired at a mall. You'd probably start at minimum wage or slightly better.
Don't be nervous. Look the interviewer in the eye, shake his or her hand and introduce yourself at the beginning of the interview, smile, and respond to their questions.
Reply:I agree with everything the first responder said as well. Also, places like Aeropostale are great places for teens to work. Their store is geared towards teens/young adults. If you can show that your responsible, professional, and trendy you should have a good chance of getting that job. Have you done anything in high school, volunteered? Yes, you do not have work experience but you can put on your application that you have done something with leadership or have "worked" in some sort of way. This is an Aeropostale/Gap store, not their corporate office. Pay wise, don't expect nothing over $2 or so over minimum wage, if that. Good luck.

What is the worst part about looking for a job?
Looking for a job, is a job. You have to get up early and keep knocking on doors and filling out applications. The worst part about it is that you don't get paid for the work it involves. That is unless you are collecting unemployment. :-)
What is the worst part about looking for a job?
I think the worst part is knowing that despite your best efforts, the final decision is out of your hands. There's a lot of uncertainty there, which can lead to anxiety, never mind the bills that still must be paid...which might lead to taking a job that you really don't like. good luck finding one if you're looking.

Where should start looking for a GS job?
Im about to retire in 2 years and 3 months and want to live in japan. I want ot find an GS job that pay rather well. My background is in Ordnance and Security. Where should I start? I was thinking about retiring in Misawa, Atsugi, Camp Zama, anywhere in Japan. Any advice will be deeply appriciated, thanks for your time.
Where should start looking for a GS job?
You have to be young if you want to find a job in Japan. Even Japanese are struggling to find one if they are over 40.
If you are old enough to retire, it's nearly impossible to find a job in Japan.
Reply:For most workers, the Japanese government requires that you have a four year degree. And you need a solid job offer to qualify for a work visa...Unless you can read, write and speak Japanese at a native level, your back ground will be of little or no value. Jobs will always go to a native Japanese first.
Japan is NOT an easy country to retire to as they have a very closed immigration policy. You can't just move there.
Even a poor country like Thailand requires that you have at least $20,000+ in the bank and a monthly income of at least $1,500...How about Florida?
Reply:Its hard to get a citizenship in Japan there are alot of regulations, first off you will not be a citizen in 2 years. it might take about 3-7 years. so I don't know what to tell you.
Reply:How about check here?

Unofrtunately no such website exists to my knowledge, the reaosn being that there are too many variables involved in building work, it is very much a bespoke service.
Where can I look for low level jobs at a Movie/TV Studio?
I want to know how to apply for a low job like
Bringing Coffee to someone
Cleaning
etc...
Where can I look for low level jobs at a Movie/TV Studio?
That's called a Production Assistant, whereabouts do you live?
PA's do everything on the set that grips don't do.
They hold traffic, go for coffee runs and handle crowds.
Ususally they hand the first PA jobs to film students, but newcomers can get them too with the proper training.
If you want to work on a large budget film or television show you need to be part of a union. If it is small films, shorts, documentaries you need so search for jobs other places such as film school projects and the internet.
If you have any more questions about working on a film set or getting film jobs feel free to e-mail me at lisa_woot@yahoo.com.

Are you happy at your current job? If not, what is keeping you from looking for another job and moving on?
I am a computer programmer, been at it for more than 10 years, and I love my job. The pay is great (%26gt;65k a year), the benefits rock, I get tons of vacation time, and my boss is the coolest guy ever!
Life is good. Livin the dream baby!
Reply:I work in a public library and am very happy. I've been here almost 10 years. I like all the people I work with and have so many tasks, I'm never bored.
Reply:Actually at this time I do like my job. I work for a non profit organization that helps parents with their children. It get frustrating at times but can't keep beat the perks though. This isn't what I plan on doing forever though. My goal eventually is to open up my own photography studio. So I go to work every day and put money back to obtain my goal and do what I love the most on the weekends. Eventually though I will have the funds that I need and will move on.
Reply:No, not really. I stay with it because I'm in college and I need the money. It's close to my house, which is a necessity because I don't have a car. Plus, my boss is really understanding when it comes to working around my classes.

Im 13 looking for a summer job does any body have a job for a 13 year old???
Im looking for a job because i need money and my parents wont give me any money.I want to by things for me but i dont have money.
Im 13 looking for a summer job does any body have a job for a 13 year old???
Go door-to-door of people that you KNOW and ask to mow lawns, weed gardens, clean windows, wash cars, etc. In my state, it is legal for a 13 year old to baby sit---and that can pay well for a mature, responsible teen. Have you thought about getting a paper delivery route? I think they allow teens your age to do that.
Reply:Don't try to find a job on line its not safe. check the news paper
Reply:i have the same problem.. i read online that ou could get a job bussing tables at denny's if you're 13 but im not totally sure if its true.. you should probably check the newspaper.
Reply:Baby sit or if you live near a berry farm you might be able to pick berry's for money.

I am 15 and looking for a summer job at giant grocery. How would I go about getting a job application?
Do I just walk in there and ask for a job. I really need to get a job but im not sure how I would go about doing so. what do I do... help!
I am 15 and looking for a summer job at giant grocery. How would I go about getting a job application?
Walk in. Ask to speak to a manager. Ask manager if the store is hiring. If yes, ask if you can fill out an application. If no, say thanks, and walk out.
Reply:I tried getting a job at Bi-Mart. I walked up to costumer service and asked if they were hiring. The woman that was there told me that they were not hiring right then. I asked if I could get a job application anyways, and she told me no because I have to be 18 to work there. So I guess that is how you go about getting a job....just make sure you are the right age. If she had given me an application I would have filled it out, turned it in, and waited for a call for a job interview. Good luck in getting a job!
Reply:just ask for an application. Turn it in and if they are hiring, you may get hired.
Reply:Talk to someone at the customer service desk. If they won't help ask for the manager. A lot of big chains even have computerized kiosks in the store where you can put in your application. Remember, if they have a help wanted sign in the window, they must! give you an application.
Reply:I would just walk up and ask for a manager. Then ask him or her if they are currently hiring. Happens every day, don't be nervous!

How long did you spend looking for your last job?
Did you find something you like or did you settle for anything for the money? At the end, how did you find the job that you took?
How long did you spend looking for your last job?
I was not really looking. But my friend used to come into my store and cash his paychecks, just to show me how much money he was making. He was in sales. Now, 8 years later we both still work for the same company; however, neither of us are in sales anymore. And the funny thing, I am his boss...hee hee

Can you get fired for telling your employer your looking for a new job?
I am looking for a new job, and do not want my current employer to get their hopes up as far as me staying around. The company is wacko, the people here are two faced, and it all together is not a honest company. If I inform them I am looking for a new job so that they have time to prepare to fill my position, can they fire me? Even if Im not looking while I am at work?
Can you get fired for telling your employer your looking for a new job?
Do not tell them you are looking, just is not good for you, tell them when you have found something, they might not fire you but as stated will not look good and might screw with you. Best played poker hands are held close to the chest. Do not tell anyone
Reply:Depends on the state, most states you can be fired for any reason, besides descrimination! So I would only give the required two weeks, find a job, explain to the new employer you need to give 2 weeks, so you won't be able to start for two weeks. Then go from there, at least if they fire you at that point you have a job, and maybe the new one will let you start right away after all!
Reply:If you are in a "work-at-will" job (which most are) then you can leave for any reason, and they can let you go for the same. So the answer is yes, they can fire you if you decide to tell them, or give notice.
The general exceptions to this are if you are under contract or part of a union and the agreement speaks specifically to giving notice.
Reply:If you work in an "At Will" state, they could - even if you give 2 weeks notice - they could say "Leave right now" and there is nothing you can do, if you fear that, wait as long as you can and to give notice and be prepared to possibly be told to clean out your desk that day.
Reply:depends how much notice you are required to give
you can claim dentist appointments while going for interviews.
You don't have to tell them until you have found something.
there are a lot of unemployed people out there just now, more by the day as companies go under.
So if you don't need to tell them ................ don't

My Dad, who was still on probation, got fired just because his employer *heard* he was looking for another job.
He was still on probation though, I'm not sure if it works on normal circumstances.
Reply:dont tell them... look for a job and find one first... after getting one tell them u found a new job and ur giving them two weeks... if they want to fire u before the two weeks, tell them thank you and be happy with your new opportunity at your new job.
Reply:They can take your early resignation. You did in fact resign just by stating you are looking for another job. So yes they can ask you to leave early.
Reply:yes
Be happy that you at least have a job - many don't (including me).
Look for another job, but keep it very QUIET - don't tell ANYONE!!

I am a looking for a job in the entertainment industry. Is 4entertainmentjobs.com a legit website.?
I am recent colleg grad with a degree in mass communications and 3 internships experiences. I am looking for a job and I came across the webiste but it requires membership. Should i get it or not/ What should I do?
I am a looking for a job in the entertainment industry. Is 4entertainmentjobs.com a legit website.?
You are too vague. You need to know what branch of the entertainment you are planning to go into whether its acting, directing, hosting, writing, technical etc. Joining a website might give you connections but won't really get into the door itself.

I am 60 and am looking for a new job.How can I tell if an employer discrimates because of age. I feel they do
I have applied for jobs that I know I have more experience and better qualifications than the "younger person" they hired. They can't come out and say it is because of my age but I feel it is, but how can I prove it. They can use any reason they want and it is still "age discrimination". Don't they realize and older person in most cases are more reliable and dependable than the younger generation?
I am 60 and am looking for a new job.How can I tell if an employer discrimates because of age. I feel they do
Just because proving age discrimination is difficult does not mean that it is impossible. Here are some ideas. Have a younger friend with similar credentials related to the position apply at the same time. Compare your experiences. Better yet, get together a group of people to apply: some your age, others significantly younger. Compare your experiences. The more people that apply, the more likely a pattern will be to emerge. Regardless of whether you know anyone else who applied, once you know you have not been selected for a position, contact the employer and ask what, if anything, would have made you a better candidate. You may not get much of an answer, but you will not know if you don't ask. This is not an uncommon tactic for persons of any age and without regard to whether they suspect discrimination. Of all types of discrimination, however, employers are still most likely to admit age based discrimination than any other. They may do so by saying that they want someone with more longterm potential, or by assuming that you wanted too much money (even though no salary request was made). They may even just come out and say that you're too old. (This is particularly true, I think, with occupations that require physical strength).
In instances where you feel strongly that age was a factor, try filing a charge of age discrimination even if you have very little evidence. File the charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Legal proof of age discrimination consists of the following:
(1) demonstrating that you are in the protected age group; (2) that you are qualified for the position sought; (3) that you were denied the position; (4) and that there is SOME reason to connect the denial of employment to age. No. 4 can be something as simple as what you described: the successful candidate was younger and less experienced. This is called your "prima facie" case. If you can establish a prima facie case, it falls to your employer to articulate a non-discriminatory reason for its decision. Many employer, at this stage of the process, begin to doubt that they had sufficiently good reasons and begin to embroider their reasons by including "reasons" that are demonstrably false. If your employer offers reasons for its decision that are demonstrably false, discrimination MAY be inferred. That is, if you were before a jury, the jury would be able to find that the failure to hire was discriminatory though it would not be required to so find. Of course, you don't want things to go that far, but if you file charges of discrimination in the most egregious cases you might be able to negotate or mediate a satisfactory outcome. Go see an employment lawyer.
And in the mean time, if there is an employer known for its willingness to employ persons over 50, apply there.
Reply:Dont be one of those people. Just apply, interview and live with the results. I firmly believe an employer should have the right to hire whoever they want for whatever reason EVEN if it is not me.
Reply:that is true but would you on the other hand hire a 60 year old when you can hire a young buck we are slower myself i cant half remember[ reliable dependable ] arthur must dont know where you stay child these joints good luck what ever floot your boat
Reply:I now they shouldn't but I'm sure they do--proving it would be impossible I bet. Not sure what job you are looking for, but consider education related jobs. Many parttime jobs are available with good pay and the experience of age is a plus. Teacher assistants, substitutes, office personnel, are just some ideas. These usually pay as well for less hours than many entry level jobs elsewhere.
Reply:You cannot do anything unless you get it in writing. That won't happen. Try looking for jobs for seniors or jobs for retirees in a Yahoo! search. Try a temporary employment agency.
Reply:I have seen this many times. It is unprovable. I would just go on looking for someone who appreciates a steady worker.
Reply:Because you "have more experience and better qualifications than the "younger person" they hired", you do NOT know that age was a factor. You would not that age was a factor only if the person had the SAME experience and qualifications as you. Based on the facts that you state, it is possible that the employer hired that other person because you were too qualified or too experienced for the employer to want. Many employers want someone with just enough qualifications and experience, and no more.
Reply:The problem is that you'd never really be able to prove it - all they need is ONE age-neutral reason that the other person is a better fit for the complany. These types of cases are difficult, and usually require a pattern of many applicants rather than just one, or something blatantly said during an interview.
I think you'll just have to keep looking. Good luck!

15 year old looking for a job in the west yorkshire, UK area?
Preferably something to do with music, maybe a music shop looking for a saturday worker? I play drums and came in the top 40 of Young drummer of the year UK 2008, so i could demonstrate on the kits or just work at the till, whatever is required....
15 year old looking for a job in the west yorkshire, UK area?
you would need expierience of working in a shop and you would need to have left school because only people over 16 can work in a shop because of laws. If you worked in a music shop you would not be showing people how the drums work all the time. if you decide to apply for a place at a music shop you could tell them that you are in a band.
Reply:The UK is England, Scotland, Wales %26amp; Northern Ireland altogether,
West Yorkshire is in England,
Are you one of those people who only calls England the UK?

Can anyone Network? I'm looking for a job in the Lehigh Valley Area(PA). I don't know many people in the area?
I'm looking for a job in a clerical/admin position or customer service. I also have somewhat of a medical background and strong computer skills. Just wondering if anyone works for a company that is currently hiring. I'm a hard worker, and I know a lot of people are looking for jobs in this failing economy, and I'm one of them. I've already done the monster and craigslist thing just looking for a little extra help. thank you!

I have just earned my COMPTIA A+, what jobs should I be looking for?
Ive just earned my A+ through self study but now need experience.
What kind of jobs should I be looking for and where is best to find them?
Im currently listed on Monster, but not really had any response.
Or have I just wasted my time?
I have just earned my COMPTIA A+, what jobs should I be looking for?
Congratulations on passing. I passed Comptia A+ last year and found registering with employment sites a complete waste of time. I even emailed over 15 local IT companies/computer shops asking for a unpaid placement to gain more experience, and got 1 reply.
I'd recommend doing IT related voluntary work with a charity to gain more experience, then you would be a better position. I've only just started doing that myself, so it's too early to say it will stand me in good stead for the future - but hopefully it will.
Some people recommend doing another course like Newtorking etc. Sorry I can't be of more help

Looking for a driving job, courier, or something like that, any suggestions?
I am looking for a driving job, everytime i do a job search for driver it comes up HGV. I have my own car, where do i look for courier, delivering parcels, or any goods. I have a jack russell dog and want to take him along other than leave him home alone.
Looking for a driving job, courier, or something like that, any suggestions?
I can definitely tell you, if you would like to work for a courier company you'll have plenty of chances. Just log on to the top ones, (FEDEX, TNT), they both have location depots to choose from where you can submit your CV online (and they need them almost constantly).
Not sure about your dog though, these are highly regulated companies, strong in health and safety.
If the dog is the priority, get involved in small to medium haulage companies (search in the yellow pages for example) although some of them may require you provide your own HGV.
Good luck
Reply:try local blood bank
Reply:Try courier companies in your area, they sometimes have "flyers" that need to go straight away. It may only be bits and pieces at first but can build up quite quickly.
Reply:Go to your local newspaper, as long as you don't mind early early morinings you can make good money, Perhaps bundles would be the way to go for you. Good luck and Blessings!
Reply:GO TO REDCATS CURIOURS THEY NEED CURIOURS VERY URGENTLY...GOOD LUCK...opppps sorry for caps

You will have to wait several years. We are in another Great Depression now.
Reply:its tough finding a job given todays economy. just have to be patient and take whatever job even if u hate it just to get by. with a year long gap in employment it makes you look bad. if u have something anything even volunteering experience to keep u busy and ur neurotransmitters moving it should help ease the frustration plus you will have some cash in ur pocket. no ones saying but yes we are in a depression.

She lives in a community where that would work thats an idea if you live an a place where people could afford to do that thats a suggestion.
she has a 2 yr old and is expecting in october
Reply:Mary Kay. Visit their website www.marykay.com and find a local consultant in your area to give you more information. I have known several ladies - even single moms - who have been able to stay home with their children and replace or exceed their executive level incomes while running a successful Mary Kay business from home - making calls and doing appointments while the kids are there with you.
Some people are afraid of sales, but in this economy there is no more "job security." People get laid off everyday. You can't get laid off if you work for yourself. In sales, you can control the number of people that you see everyday or everyweek. It is actually more guaranteed than a regular "9 to 5" job. Good luck.

call local businesses and see what they say.

Good luck.
Reply:have you called local companies and asked if they are looking for homeworkers? some companies look for people to stuff envelopes all day or do light typing.
call local businesses and see what they say.
just my opinion. hope this helps.

What is the best way to state you are only looking for a temporary job?
I am moving to a new town and need a temporary job for a few weeks until i get my CNA, then i will be working as a CNA. what would be the best way of stating that in an application?
What is the best way to state you are only looking for a temporary job?
I am looking for part-time/temperary work due to CNA training. Or you might be able to get PRN work at a nursing center as an NA. Have you tried? Usually they will let you go to work as an NA on the floor until you get your certification, then they will put you to work full-time.
Reply:Best thing would be to go to a temporary agency and let them find the jobs for you. With qualifications of an almost CNA, you should have no problem.
Reply:Say you are looking for a temporary job. For only a months time.
Reply:says it on app "temporary" if it doesnt have that box to check usually you dont let them know so you will be hired... kinda sux but thats life!
Reply:Try a temp agency..or just don't mention it. (?) Not exactly ethical, but perhaps your temp position could turn into permanent one.
Or, just tell them you'll receive your license in a few weeks %26amp; would like to stay on with a pay upgrade. :)

Looking for a job in the medical field. Any suggestions?
I'm 21years old and am looking for a job in the medical field, with great pay and little patient contact. I considered Medical Transcription. I have done a lot of research on it, but everyone says the pay drops and most people advise not to enter into that field now. I would like something that wouldnt take more than 1 or 2 years of school so I can start working soon. Any ideas?
Looking for a job in the medical field. Any suggestions?
Here's a suggestion. Since you don;t want patient contact, try selling medical equipment to doctors. I do it all day long - and - get great pay for it! If you know the medical field - you can use that knowledge to establish the contacts with the doctors and fill their needs. I am an Equipment Leasing Broker. I bring people together who want to get equipment and those that want to lend money. In today's world, banks do not want to lend - so it is a great way to make a living. During recessions, I do better than in good times, as people still need to buy or replace equipment. Good luck with whichever direction you take !
Reply:How about Medical Billing? It's different than transcripting. However the pay is not that great unless you are great at it. Um there are not that many jobs in the health care field that offer great pay for little contact with patients. How about a xray tech? Not too much contact for long periods of time. Maybe working in the lab with blood test and ect...?
Reply:great pay and little patient contact would be medical billing you can look at the medical billing page at PureMEDICALjobs.com as well as other careers in the med field good luck
Reply:Medical Billing and Coding. It takes a short amount of time and they make pretty good money.

My friend is pregnant and is looking for a job for the next 7 months. what would be best job for her.?
She has only worked in fast food and her boyfriend and her need to earn extra money before the baby comes along.
My friend is pregnant and is looking for a job for the next 7 months. what would be best job for her.?
Yep, I'd say a phone job. I'm 21 weeks and showing really well so instead of looking for work (I know I wont get hired anyway), I'll be volunteering at local op-shops.
Reply:call centre maybe? I got a job in a call centre when i found out i was pregnant and worked all the way up til i went into labour. Very easy work!! and its fairly easy to get a casual position too
Reply:well call centre operators dont really need much experience, jsut talking on the phone and good communication which she shoudl have working fast food
i worked in a call centre up to my 36th week and its not hard on your feet and not very stress ful either
Reply:Temping would be the go. It would give her the added flexibility of being able to get time off to go for Dr's appointments, scans and the like as needed.

I live in northwest indiana and am looking for a job in a hospital that doesnt require a degree.?
im planning on going back to college in august for ultrasound tech so as of now im trying to get my foot in the door and experience in working with patients in a hospital. if anyone knows of any types of jobs available in hospitals i would really appreciate it if you can inform me. thank you in advance
I live in northwest indiana and am looking for a job in a hospital that doesnt require a degree.?
CNA - certified nurses aide does not require a degree it does require a training class that last 40 hours of school plus 40 hours of clinical and then passing the state boards.
most nursing homes provide this training (they are refunded all expenses through medicare) most of them for a very small fee or requirement that you work for them for a set time.
CNA's provide personal care to residents of nursing homes and patients in hospitals in some states they are allowed to administer medications with some extra training but that is uncommon. personal care involves all the ADL's things such as bathing, feeding, dressing, toileting, transfers and assist in restorative therapy.
Reply:You can work in housekeeping... just about anything else in a hospital takes a degree and/or specialized training.
Reply:good luck they wont hire anyone without a degree

I am looking for work. What are the many varied facets of acquiring a job?
I am looking for a job, how do I get one?
Getting a job was hard for me but I managed. You should too if you follow these steps:
1. Dress for success.
2. Use a firm handshake. (Trust me. They will notice.)
3. Speek loudly with confidence. Try to begin answering every question in less 5 seconds. Never say I dont know!
4. It may help to think of some questions that you may be asked before-hand and develop prepared answers.
5.Always contact them. Dont wait for them to call you. Call the job 1 or 2 times a week to see if they are considering you.
GOOD LUCK!

Try this blog; the woman running it tries out different programs then reports on whether they actually work and how much the average person can expect to make, as well as revealing what programs are scams.
http://work-online-reviews.blogspot.com/
It may or may not have the kind of thing you are looking for; but on the plus side it will let you about some scams to avoid :)
Be careful with assembling jobs, they are all too often fakes.

I lost my job few years ago and after that I just couldn't find a new one. Nobody was hiring. I am so glad that my friend told me about this...
I work from home for few years now. The company is legit and has been on the market since 1999. They pay me every time - no issues. I can show you my paypal account, so you can make sure! You can start for free and work whenever you have time.
But, if you decide to work from home (online), you need somebody to show you what do you have to do, otherwise u will do too many unnecessary things. I started on my own, and I was not making any progress for quite a while.
Please take a look at video on my web site. You will get the idea what is it all about. I would like you to watch it because you can see payment proof in it, so you will know that I am not lying or anything. Video : http://tinyurl.com/workfromhomelegit
If you decide to join use that link, so I will be your sponsor and I will be able to help you get started and along the way.

Reply:If you want to make serious money from home like successful entrepreneurs do, then you need to get into the field known as "product reselling". This basically involves finding rebrandable, digital products that appeal to a specific niche, and selling them as your own.
The hard thing with this however is finding products which will allow you to legally rebrand them (this is known as "rebranding rights" or "resell rights"). There are a number of sites out there offering rebrandable products that you can sell, however if you're completely new to the field I could not recommend any package more than David Franklin's, over at http://rebrandableproducts.com/
The price of the package is only $47, and he not only teaches you how to sell rebrandable products, but he also gives you over 100 products that you can start selling immediately. These products cover every niche from online dating, to health, even to make money from home courses. Most of the sites you see on the internet advertising these "get rich quick schemes" are simply courses that have been rebranded.
As I say, if you want the real, no nonsense approach, check out David's package. It has everything you need to start rebranding products, and selling them as your own. You'll have a lot of other people trying to sell you something, but selling your own products is the only real way to go.
Hope this helps.

I'm looking for a job working from home that wont cost me anything but yet i still make money any ideas?
Try this blog; the woman running it tries out different programs then reports on whether they actually work and how much the average person can expect to make, as well as revealing what programs are scams.
http://work-online-reviews.blogspot.com/
It may or may not have the kind of thing you are looking for; but on the plus side it will let you about some scams to avoid :)
Be careful with assembling jobs, they are all too often fakes.
Reply:Hi!

There is a 3 week wait to have an HDTV fixed. If you can learn to repair them, you can work nonstop.
Apply at office buildings and industrial areas. They will appreciate your typing skills. Retail and grocery stores get 100 applications a week; avoid them..
Reply:I dont know if this will help..my daughter worked during the summers for a program given by the schools..she worked in the city courts for the summer and they paided her..as an aide...she really liked the job..lots of paperwork and some computer skills...you can go to the court house or some thing of that nature locally to see if they will hire you part time or even temporary help...and there is the smaller papers ..you know like the thrifty nickel, small sales papers..you can show them your work and see if you can train...go to the library and ask if they know of small jobs or part time jobs you can apply for...
good luck on your search and I hope it helps..

Try call centers. They usually pay pretty well and are always looking for customer service reps. Good luck! :)

Local summer camp as a camp counselor; lifeguard at a pool; department store of any kind; wait tables, bar tending; local hospital orderly; nursing home assistant; physical education coordinator at local senior center or nursing home
Reply:I work part time at a Walgreens and I just love it. Consider other retail stores like clothing, shoes, Foot Locker, sporting goods stores, etc. HURRY... employers are starting to hire now for summer help.
Reply:I would look at sites like snagajob.com, yahoohotjobs.com, craig'slist and start there. I'm not sure where you live in relationship to theme parks if there are any but I always check their websites just to see what they are offering.
Don't be afraid to do a internet search for sports+internships in your area some of them do pay.
If you were active in sports in high school you may be able to hook up with local state universities for camps or they also may be able to point to in another direction.
I'm not sure if you plan on attending college or playing sports in college but if you contact the athletic director of some universities they may be glad to help you out. I landed a job doing sports medicine for a summer and I did it through the athletic director.
Keep in mind if this is only for summer you are running out of time because most companies that are doing summer hiring it ends late May early June. That is if they haven't made their decisions already.
Reply:Look in the phone book and and set up and appointment with a temp agency. (like Manpower, Kelly Services, etc.) They can set you up to do temporary work whether it be factory work or office work. That's your fastest bet.
If you are really into sports, go into the government blue pages in the phone book and look for the parks and recreations department. They will tell you how to apply and whats available. They hire city pool lifeguards and coaches/coaching staff for kids softball/soccer/etc. and that kind of stuff. However, this is only for the summer usually and is a good choice if you plan on going to college in the fall.
You can also go to all the local gyms and put in an app. Most of them just require some form of customer service background.
If you have no work history, a temp agency may be the best way to go. Best of luck.
Reply:You might want to check your local community college. I know one in our city has several classes that only last a couple (2 or 3) weeks for classes in lifeguarding and swim instructors. Don't know if you're a swimmer, or if that's sports related enough for you, but it could give you enough "education" to make up for any lack of experience you may have. Might help with a job at a water park.
You might also check at your local golf courses to see if they have anything open.
Another idea is maybe at a summer camp. Don't know if those jobs pay much, if anything, but again, it would give you some experience to help towards a sports job you'd like to have in the future.......
Hope that helps some!
Good luck, and just remember that WHEN you do get an interview, to just be yourself!

When should I start looking for a summer job?
This summer job will be my first real job not counting work experience. Can someone tell me about when should I go around looking for the job and how (E.g. give them my CV?)?
When should I start looking for a summer job?
try in the summer.
Reply:Probably about a month ago. How you search depends what type of job you're looking to find. If it's just a summer job in a retail shop, put together your CV (make several copies) and go around to the shops (get their early and be prepared with cv, pen, id, etc). If you're hoping for a "professional" position in an office environment, check job listings and placement agencies. Most of that you can do online. Also, ask everyone you know if they know of any temporary positions. It's always helpful to be recommended by an insider. Good luck!
Reply:well right now! but is better before the summer vacation that way you don't have to compete with a the high school kids. and a good place would be at the mall that way you can work on your people skills or arecreational center and get good references when you get a real job.

Why not work on your CV, print some copies out- poss with a covering letter giving hours of availabillity and go talk to managers in places you fancy working for- they will ltell you not to bother, take your CV and keep it just in case, or tell you when is the right time if they know they will be recu=ruiting. It doesn't hurt to ask and one or two places may be snotty about it- ottakers was, when I asked them for work- but they won't ever remember you if you go in again, so there's no need to feel embarrassed- take a mate if your feeling shy for some support
Reply:Here is a short list of summer jobs which you can create to generate income:
1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.
2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.
3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.
4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.
5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.
6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.
7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there's a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer's cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner's experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.
Good luck!

I am about 12 weeks pregnant and looking for a job?
If I get hired were I have an interview at how long should I wait to tell them I'm pregnant it takes a while for me to show but I will show soon based on my other pregnancy. So what can I do or say to the job.
I am about 12 weeks pregnant and looking for a job?
i would go for a temp job and be honest with them from the start
Reply:You will more than likely be passed up for many jobs since you are pregnant. I had a job when I found out I was pregnant, but I was on temporary status. I almost didn't get hired on through the company because of it. (I had a miscarriage in April and got pregnant again in May) The second pregnancy, I kept from my coworkers until I was further than 12 weeks (history of miscarriages at 12 weeks). When you go for an interview, make sure you let them know you are pregnant. If you get passed up for one, then so be it. It's not right, but no one wants to hire someone who will be going on maternity leave shortly after being hired. The best thing might for you might be going to a temporary job service. They have jobs that are only for a short period of time ( which to most employers will be what you will be working anyway).
Good Luck with your job hunt and pregnancy.
Reply:It's best to wait until they make an offer. I wouldn't say anything about it sooner because although its illegal for them to pass on you because you are pregnant - it would be impossible to prove that was the reason (unless they stupidly say exactly that). However, if they make you an offer, that tells you that you were the best candidate for the job and they want you as an employee. At that point, you have the obligation to let them know at the earliest convenience.
Good luck!
Reply:Actually, You do not have any legal reason to tell them. I would definitely not tell them before being hired, and it is illegal for them to even ask you. Once hired, though, I would tell them because you will need to go on maternity leave at some point. Remember* it is illegal for them to not hire you or fire you based on the fact that you are pregnant and you have absolutely no responsibility to tell them until you are hired for good!*
Reply:Most companies ask during an interview if you'll need any time off in the next year and at that point you need to say, I'll need maternity leave from from this date___ to this date___, if you say no then that would be deceitful on your part and they would be unhappy with you. If they don't ask during the interview then it's their own fault and you should be fine waiting until you start showing to say anything.
Reply:I am pregnant and jobless.
I got out of college with a degree in May and got pregnant in August. The last thing I want to do right now is start a career and take on responsibilities when I know I have a bundle of them on their way.
Do you not have a supportive father to be?
It is relatively cheap for me to lay around all day. You just need to make it cost effective and do free things like go to the library.
And I would also ask.. do you plan to keep the job after the baby? Is this a part time job you see yourself doing after your child comes or are you going to leave them high and dry?
Reply:you do not have to tell them anything at the interview, and you can tell them your pregnant after you are hired anytime you want.. even if you want to wait until you are showing lol you could make them guess... once you are hired they cannot fire you for being pregnant. but they can fire you for lots of other reasons, and some company's will find them... i got fired a week after i told my company i was pregnant. they found a stupid reason and went with it. they even tried to deny me unemployment but i got a lawyer and they dropped their case against me. unfortunately, the lawyer cannot prove that they fired me b/c i was pregnant. so good luck and i hope you have a good company to work for... i have a good one now that can't wait for me to come back to work and show off the baby to everyone :)
Reply:Not many jobs will hire you when you are pregnant, and the insurance won't cover the pregnancy and delivery because you didn't have it before you got pregnant. You would be better off filing for Medicaid.
Reply:Sorry, bad idea. Even if they do hire you out of ignorance of your pregnancy or out of fear of a lawsuit, they will most likely drop you like a bad habit the minute they can do so without being vulnerable to a lawsuit.
Reply:You don't have to tell them unless you are comfortable telling them. It is against the law for them to fire you or not hire you because you are pregnant.
Reply:that all depends on what kind of job you get hired to do. If it is a lot of lifting and things you would need to tell them soon.
Reply:As long as you were not showing and it does not affect your job don't tell. they probably will not hire you even though they are not supposed to discriminate, yeah right!
Reply:You should be upfront or it is the same as lying if you don't tell them.
Reply:Would you hire someone that is going to need 6 weeks medical leave in less than 6 months?
Reply:I would be straight forward with them...they can't discriminate against you for it.
Reply:be honest
