I'm 14 years old. I'm looking for a job, but once i have one will I need to pay taxes?

Depends on how much you make. Since you are a minor, you can't claim yourself as a dependent as your parents claim you. But since you don't earn that much, you won't be paying much. You can get some good info either at the www.irs.gov website, or call 1800-829-1040.

You will have to get a work permit from your school before any legit company will even look at hiring you. Most places don't allow that until 16.

You will have to pay taxes if you live in the US, and your parents/guardian will need all of the financial info for their taxes as well.
Reply:Well, yes you will. They'll take out 7.65% for social security and medicare. You might or might not also owe federal, state and/or local income taxes - that depends on how much you make.
Reply:THEY WILL TAKE IT OUT OF YOUR CHECK if you have a "real" job - BUT WHEN YOU FILE YOUR INCOME TAX RETURN AT THE END OF THE YEAR - YOU WILL PROBABLY GET ALL OF IT BACK. I ALWAYS DID UNTIL I WAS MAKING REAL MONEY. I AM ASSUMING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU WILL BE MAKING WON'T BE MUCH, SINCE I DIDN'T MAKE ENOUGH TO NOT GET ALL MY TAXES BACK UNTIL I was 20 or so. If you are going to be working for cash (mowing lawns or smthng) then you will probably not be making enough to have to pay taxes. You can go to IRS.gov and see what the amount is - but I believe if you bring in less than around 14,000 a year or so - you are not required by law to pay any taxes out of your own pocket.
Reply:Yes but you can also file taxes and get it returned b/c you are under 18
Reply:Well if you earn over a certain amount a week, you might have to. But I don't think there are much jobs that pay over a 拢100 a week to 14 year olds.
