How should I go about it...I've been through a couple years of college and dont know where to start. Do I just go down to the police station and ask or what? and what should I expect? are their any requirements before hand I should know about? and what kind of tests are applied?
If I was looking for a job in Law Enforcement?
it is extremely simple. see what the requirements are and where ever you apply.all you have to do is ask.

Reply:First off it depends on where you live, and depends on what you took in college. Here in Canada if you have a diploma in either Police Foundations or Law/Security that will work wonders for you. What kind of career in law enforcement do you want? If you live in Canada you must meet the following expectaions
1) You must have your GED (Highschool diploma)
2) 2 years of college prefarbly Police Foundations
3) You must attend and graduate from the Ontario Policing College located in Alymer Ontario and they will require a physical, written and oral exam
4) You must have a valid driver's license
5) You must pass a criminal and credit background check
6) You must have your CPR/First Aid License
If not thats not to say you can't have a career in law enforcement; You can still become a PI, a security guard, customs officer, border patrol etc.
Hope that helps.
Reply:yep. pretty much, smaller depts may not require no college just entry level positions
i know the nypd wants you to have like 90 credit hours of school and or military service
tests differ with each dept, some have none, some have a lot
test you can expect are physical tests, job related written tests, and tests to see if your crazy, lie detection tests
and job with the federal government like fbi, they want a 4 year degree
you can go to www.911hotjobs.com and do a search for law enforcemnt jobs in your state
Reply:I dont know why you wanna do that- Do you have a power trip and like pulling poor people over for no reason? Real ambitious i tell ya, keep hittin the books jack
