I have gone on several interviews, including several second interviews, but am not getting offered the jobs. What could I be doing wrong? I suspect that it is the why are leaving question. I try to say I am not challanged. Is there something else I could say that might sound better?
Please help, I have another second interview today and really need to get out of my current job. I hate it so much here and am afraid I will quit with out a replacement job lined up if I don't find something soon.
I am looking for a new job but seem to be stumbling on the interview?
Why are you leaving?
Smile. Breathe.
If you don't feel challenged... a more PR way of saying that could be:
I'm looking for a role where I can see the impact of my contributions, which is lacking in my current position. I know I can do more and be more and I'd love to have a chance to prove that to myself and to my firm.
And another key question that could make or break you...
why do you want to join their company?
Be sure to research your answer and tailor-fit how you present your competencies to that specific role and that specific company. A lot of times, I entertain interviewees who didn't even bother to read up on our company, which just astonishes me.
Fit goes both ways -- their company with you or you with them.
Good luck.
Reply:The most important thing to remember in an interview is to never say anything bad about past employment's co-workers, bosses and or type of job you had to do. In fact, it's best to not say anything bad about a previous job at all.
If you're questioned about why you're leaving a job, give answers such as: Better benefits; closer to home; better pay; better hours; different hours...
Reply:YOU CAN'T GO INTO A JOB INTERVIEW AND HAVE THEM THINKING YOUR JUST ANOTHER INTERVIEW! LET THEM KNOW WHY YOU ARE THE BEST FOR THE JOB. IF ASKED WHY YOU THINK YOU WOULD BE GOOD FOR THIS JOB, ANSWER, I HAVE HAD PAST EXPERIENCES THAT HAVE PREPARED ME TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGES YOUR JOB OPENING HAS TO OFFER. OR, I AM AWARE THAT THIS JOB OPENING REQUIRES PATIENCE AND EXPERIENCE, AND THAT THE FIELD ESPECIALLY INTERESTS YOU. AND WITH THE HOPE THAT YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION, YOU KNOW THAT YOUR PAST EXPERIENCES WILL PREPARE YOU FOR THE CHALLENGE. AND IF NOT ASKED THIS QUESTION MAKE SURE YOU FIT IT IN SOMEWHERE.
Reply:Say your seeking better opportunities, more growth in the company.
Reply:say something like "i feel it isn't using my skills to the full extent"
